A Little Candle Fun

These are not recent photos--they're actually from a couple of years ago--but as I am doing a lot of research and thinking on lighting options for an upcoming event, these came to mind. It is amazing how different lighting can change the mood of a photo entirely. A drab, dull image becomes liquid gold when the sun comes out from behind the clouds... Not all lighting is complimentary, though. Thus, the fun begins--time to experiment and play around!

So, for these photos, the requirements are simple: a tripod; a camera with a slow shutter speed set; a dark and quiet spot to experiment; candles and a subject--one who is willing to sit still. The first one--blowing out the candles--is my favorite.

Hey, now you go and give it a try!
